Early Christmas Gift Ideas....Or Not

All righty, here is a site with some amusing Religious Tchotskes:
Shop Happy Trails.

My favorites are Nunzilla: The Walking, Sparking Nun--

The Looking Good for Jesus Lip Balm (returns lips to near virgin quality)--

And the Last Supper Lunchbox ("the power and glory of Jesus' last meal mixed with the blurry kitsch of homemade art")--

Thinking ahead for Christmas,

My Last Supper lunch box is on the window sill over my desk.

Those of you in Texas parts might well want to visit the glorious overload that is Toy Joy in Austin, near both the Austin Seminary and UT campus. Great shopping awaits!

  2. I have the lip balm. "Looking Good for Jesus". Reminds me of the Christmas Shoes song . . . See www.shipoffools.com for more Jesus kitch. And there's great stuff at Hendley Market on the Strand in Galveston.

  3. Yep, I own the nun (mindy bought it for me) and I've lusted after the lunchbox previously. But the virginal chapstick is a new one. I need me some of that!!!

  4. I Love the lunch-box. Of course, being a good Methodist, there would have to be grape juice in the thermous, not that other stuff!

  5. I have the nun, she sits on a shelf in my office at church, always reminding me to behave myself.

    I covet the lunchbox.

  6. Reverend Mommy has the lunch box and uses it to store her portable communion set (including a little earthenware chalice so you don't have to do the Jesus shot glasses). It's flippin' awesome.

  7. I also covet the lunchbox. Why do lunch boxes lend themselves to such wonderfully kitschy stuff?

  8. The Boy has the nun in his room and pulls her out on occasion. One of our faves.
I also recieved a box of Jesus bandaids last Christmas... it actually has a little Jesus "action figure" with hands raised (benediction style). That trumps a mom-kiss to seal the bandaid any day.
Have you seen the After Last Supper Mints?

  9. I've seen the boxing puppet nun, but not the sparking one!

That lunchbox will be a must for Wonderboy on his first day of school.
