Friday Five: Hot Fun in the Summertime?

Reverend Songbird of RevGals invites you to share five things you love or don't love about the summertime. So here is my contribution to Friday Five:

1. My favorite summer song--Summertime, Summertime by the Jamies.

2. Favorite summer fruit: Tuscan Cantalopes!!! (sorry, Pecos)

3. Favorite summer cocktail: Prosecco.

4. Favorite Summer Locale: Curancahua Bay.

5. And finally, the one thing I hate about summer: HURRICANE SEASON! Especially this year with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico still uncapped. Double trouble....

  1. Love that song too. Funnily enough, my daughter (finishing an AS in Filmmaking) is "reading geography" this summer to complete some Gen Ed credits. Fortunately, she's enjoying it. Wish you hadn't made me think about the hurricanes/oil spill combo though. And I keep worrying that New England where I live is way overdue for a hurricane.

  2. Agreeing on that hurricane thing, especially this year. We could end up with crude driven way into the marshlands. Will be praying for God's grace in mitigating human error. Again.

  3. elynna...I certainly agree about the worst thing about summer...hurricane season especially this year as all have pointed out...such a mess!

The best part is the travel to see family or visa versa...my son, his wife and my grandchildren arrive this PM. Grammy is excited but still has lots to do before they arrive.
My travel jont will be at the end of July - again seeing son, his wife and my grandchildren as well as other family members.
This summer am also in a short Bible study and already I know God has great things in store..
    Blessings to all....elynna

  5. Auntie K,

When you live on the Gulf Coast, EVERY summer is hurricane season. All the digital highway signs are flashing "HURRICANE SEASON BE PREPARED!" just in case you forgot.

  6. Since I'm on the same coast as you, I, too, worry about those hurricanes. . . .Humidity is awful, too. I liked your pictures and positivity.

I have only resided on the Gulf coast ten years. My first experience with huricanes or tropical storms was Tropical Storm Allison which made quite an impression. Ike rather surprised me. Under the present circumstances in the Gulf...the oil and huricanes in my opinion do not mix very well.
