Daylight Savings Time Alert

SURPRISE!

Daylight savings time begins NEXT MONTH on March 11! And will last until the first Sunday in November! Your congresspersons slipped this fast one by you back in August of 2005 when the Energy Policy Act passed.

Too bad QG wasn't Mom of Congress at the time.

My least favorite weekend of the year.

Now is the time to update your software. Those with PC's should run Windows Update.

Those with Macs should do something, but I don't know what that something is. :-)

Just pick one - I don't care which - and stick with it. Geeze!

Mark--thanks for the tips. I'm a Mac user and actually discovered this little surprise when my Mac automatically updated!

They definitely need a time out.

I don't understand why this was changed. Is there some explanation? I just know the winter days are too short where I live, at both ends, and this is no help at all.

Mark Smith is correct - get your windows and Mac updates. For companies with significant data centers, this is an expensive del. My company has hundreds of servers (not to mention thousands of PCs) that all have to be updated. Very disruptive and expensive. However, more sunlight after work always is a good thing. But now I am back to going to work in the dark. Oh well....

The rationale is the usual claim that energy is saved. I doubt it.

Awww, man, that is right around the corner! I'm glad you told us.

I bet we could save more energy if we'd all just stay in bed one day of the week!

I discovered this when we had an 8:15 am pre-church meeting on February 11 to accomodate my inability to be there the following Wednesday night and everyone decided they wanted to do the same thing on March 11. It will feel like 7:15. But I already told them so!

annie - I like it. Stay in bed one day a week. Energy saving and self care at the same time! That's multi tasking I can go with!

QG: Would it be possible for you to be Mom of Congress AND Mom of Presbytery at the same time? I mean, as an empty nester you've got ALL this free time........;)

PG--
I guess it would be possible if I could re-grow that eye in the back of my head that vanished when Portia and Babs grew up!
