I think El Jefe and the girls bought this as much for them as for me.
But I'm not complaining!
We tried it out and it works very well for a non-commercial size margarita machine. But we weren't happy with the mix we used and are looking for something better.
Anyone have a great margarita recipe?
Meanwhile...lookin' for that lost shaker of salt...

That's soooo cool!
That is one nice machine.
The recipe I used back in my 30's:
Take a lick of salt, a squeeze of lime, hold lime, drink a shot of tequila, jump up and down.
Dang! I want one!

Is it just me or does it match your jammies from yesterday?
We only do Margaritas on the rocks around here, with 100% agave tequila, Rose's Lime juice, and Cointreau.
I'm on my way with the salt.
Very cool gift!
Years ago, while in Mississippi, I found a wonderful thing:
Fat Mama's "Knock You Naked" Margarita Mix.
'nough said.
Wastin away again???
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame???
That Jimmy Buffett song has over 40 years of "That frozen concoction that helps me hang on"
Anyway, didn't guess you knew country songs from back then. I didn't have much choice, as the only radio station I could get was country (while working 10-14 hours on a tractor).
I still know the words to pretty much every country song from back then - including artist, name of the album, and which side it was on. Every once in a while it's helpful from the pulpit - but rare.
Once I brought some albums to the pulpit to reference how some think about "love". "Lookin' for love in all the wrong places", "Fool for love", "Do you love as good as you look" - all on the same Johnny Lee album. Throw in other artists with titles: "Lovin' you is killin' me", "Giving it up for your love", "Love salvation", and a few more - and there's quite a bit of cultural material to compare and contrast with biblical understanding.
This past week I did include a reference to the important things in life, including the lyrics, "what would life be without home-grown tomatoes".
My family knows that just about anything that anyone says can remind me of the lyrics of a country song. When the kids were younger they figured I was just making up the songs on the spot.
BTW - I'm in a rural congregation.
Hey, your blender matches your jammies. Do the GA Newsblog readers know what you're planning to be drinking during your blog-breaks?
Ruby, you found me out!
I think everyone needs margaritas to get through General Assembly meetings.
There are some great recipes out there (eg. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/238523) and fresh lime juice and egg whites always make a great blended margarita...but, if you're serving friends and don't want to be laboring in the kitchen while they're outside waiting, try the Bacardi Frozen Margarita Mix (in the frozen juice section of the grocery store). Follow the directions - it has great consistency, and is FAST!
What? True margaritas are on the rocks...not some version of a 7-11 Slurpee with tequila added. No blender required.
Though quality tequila could make even a 7-11 slurpee taste good.
I know, I'm a snob.
