Here are the towers of ninety Bibles that are sitting in my office waiting for the start of our Bible in 90 Days groups in two weeks. I'm still getting commitments, so another order is on the way. Where will I put them?
What a great way to kick off the 20th anniversary celebration of our church!

Okay, so 90 Bibles? Would be enough for every literate, pre-senile adult in my congregation. I can't even imagine.
Do you really have 90 people doing a Bible study? I've never even had 90 people in worship, outside of my ordination and a funeral in July!
Which translation are you using?
Revmom, our church has about 730 members. Still, I never dreamed we'd get this kind of response. We even have a group of high school youth who committed to the program.
John,we use the NIV Thinline Large Print Bible for the study. Using this version you pace yourself reading 12 pages each day. Then the weekly group sessions discuss the previous week's 84 pages of reading.
I plan to post regular updates on the progress of our groups as we go along the way. We have Sunday School, youth group meeting before youth fellowship, Tuesday night, Wednesday Men's early morning, Wednesday Women's mid-morning classes. In addition, the staff of the church and school committed to do this as a group in lieu of devotional before the staff meeting. The pressure is on--I'm leading that group!
Yes--please share how this goes. I've looked at the Thru the Bible in a Year stuff, but wondered if one could really sustain enthusiasm and commitment over that long a stretch for a large group of folks. I'm particularly interested in how you "discuss" 84 somewhat random pages of scripture. What if it's the end of Esther and beginning of Job or the end of Song of Songs and the beginning of Isaiah??
Okay, I don't feel so bad. I have 150-ish members. But I'm still impressed by your undertaking this!
Me too.....If we get 30 people signed up for something here we feel positive (and of course it's always the same 30)..and our congregation is about 200.
Sounds really interesting...I look forward to updates.
