The Hermeneutics Quiz

Here's an interesting quiz that assesses how you interpret the Bible. I scored a 50, which is conservative, but almost moderate. The "conservative" range is 20 to 52.

Hmm. I would have scored myself as conservatively moderate (in the 52 to 60 range), rather than progressively conservative. But for an internet quiz, that's not too bad a result.

Hat tip: Presbyweb.

that was an interesting and somewhat frustrating quiz. some of the questions didn't offer an answer i was comfortable with at all but that seems to be the way of quizzes.....i scored an 83 - a progressive....

I agree with you--where was the "none of the above" choice? That never seems to be an option with these web quizzes.

80 here in the Little Blue State.

I scored 71. Personally, I rather relish being classified as a progressive. :)

59 here. I actually expected to score a bit more "conservatively moderate" than I did. Very interesting--thanks for the link!

84 - progressive. But for at least 4 or 5 of them I don't think any of the answers provided could be called progressive. At least there were no answer options that represented my viewpoint. So maybe I'm closer to 89?

Much more importantly, where's your Ave Maria on youtube ?????

Yeah, QG...Looked all over YouTube for you and your 'Ave Maria'...:( (tho I did see a skateboarding bulldog!)

Scored a bit more conservative than you, QG...but I have to wonder how reliability is determined in these 'tests'...

I scored a 66 - bottom rung of progressive. That's about right.

73 here. I agree that many of the questions didn't have an answer that really reflected my thoughts. Moderate-ish progessive is still fairly accurate for me, though.

No YouTube debut, yet, y'all. But my Ave Maria was caught on videotape--so maybe that's in the future!

PresbyG--nice to know there's someone out there who is more conservative than I am!

76 here, but that's pretty accurate, for the things that it measured.

(I'm still a "Flaming Liberal for QG for Mom of Presbytery!")

I am so blessed to have such a diverse readership! Love y'all!

Zorra and I are twins at 59. I was also looking for the "none of the above" choices. Interesting quiz.

I'm with Cheesehead -- your MFP flag is going to have to be theologically red, blue, and purple.

I was thinking about this quiz yesterday in the context of my realization that my time in a fairly conservative (from my POV) seminary is moving me further and further to the left. The more clearly I articulate my theology, the further over I scoot.

32! But I agree that some of the answers were not as precise as I would have liked.

I'm a progressive at 81. That seems low for me, doesn't it?

Hmm. Need to rethink my positions. Maybe get into WOW gaming so I can be as cool as Cheese's daughter. Then maybe my hermaneutics liberalness score would go up?
