This weekend I was surfing my favorite online shopping sites looking for fall clothes. Yeah, I know, it was briefly fall-ish here (below 90 degrees) and I'm sick of wearing my summer stuff.
I could not find anything. At. All.
What is up with the clothing industry? I couldn't believe all the flimsy, floaty tops in wild prints that I saw. Like this one. They look like maternity tops, but they're not. And no, I'm not looking at the junior department but at staid sites for "women of a certain age and size". I can't think of anything that would make me--or many of my friends--look worse.
And while I'm at it, I have a word for Coldwater Creek, which I generally like because they have some tall pants that fit me perfectly. Why can't you make some skirts that are in sold colors, not wild flimsy prints with uneven hems? And how about some blouses in a nice print and not just solid colors? I think you have it all backwards!
~rant over, as you were~

I am petite height but not width so join you in this rant. Fashion in Finland (at affordable prices) is even crazier.
I could not agree more...and especially about the tall-people choices. Argh!
Few things make me rantier than this!
Amen to what you said, and I'd like to add a question as to which fashion *idiot* decides that women don't need pockets in their clothes - one of the reasons I wear jeans as much as possible ;)
Amen, sister! I do not think that my fashion alternatives need to be limited to a choice between "teenage wannabe" and "figureless frump." Lord knows I get enough of the latter in clerical garb; I don't need it in my civvies as well!
I will say that I have had some luck recently at Christopher & Banks; but as a rule, I dread clothes shopping. It's enough to make Baby Jesus cry.
P.S. The word verification is "wtfbos." My sentiments exactly.
Amen! I was so disappointed in my recent Coldwater Creek catalog. I'll likely be visiting their flagship store in Jackson Hole next week, so maybe I'll share with them our thoughts on the current "style".
I'm in on the CC discussion - I look much better in solid bottoms and print tops - not what they have in our local store!
Oh thank you, thank you! What is the deal with those skirts?!
You could try this place: My Shape
Truly hideous.
Do you feel better now? Try living where the average size is about a 2! They're really into "one size fits all"-of WHAT?
And, I get no sympathy from my sweet husband.
Rant on!!
try being only 5'2" with no space between bustline and waist! I need solid pants, long shirts & two piece top sets, PLEASE!!!!
