Rev. Dave suggests these minutes should be required reading for all members of sessions, lay boards, General Councils and other church groups. Warning to New Covenant Presbytery GC members: Be prepared to explain the final decision on the light bulb at next Tuesday's meeting.
Too funny and all too true to life!

Pffftttt! Truly hysterically funny.
This reminded me of a UMW meeting wherein the discussion focused (for about half an hour) about what to do about the $14.85 in expenses unpaid after the making and sale of chocolate Easter candy and disbursements of profits thereon before they had actually been calulated (hence the leftover expense), all of which caused me to think that it would probably be too rude to simply write out a check for $14.85 or annouce that I had discovered that UMW was not my calling in life.
heehee!
I am thankful not to be in a church quite that bad....
...though at our last (special, mind you) session meeting we spent 90 minutes in a discussion about our building and what had already been done by the building task force--the chair of which was sitting there, trying to explain but constantly being told that no one remembered the things we was talking about.
awesome.
Oh good grief!
I hope that the Session I've just been selected for is not like that one.
However, knowing some of the people on it, it will appear so. I guess none of them have read the book by Earl Johnson "Selected to Serve" about what an Elder is supposed to do.
However, I'm 'new blood', so I hope to shake up a few things while I'm here. For that reason, I'm being Anonymous !!
lol
So true, so horribly, horribly true!
