Ah, yes, that's it--"The Consultant-Driven Church." I groaned when our pastor reported to the congregation a few weeks back the results of a consulting job he had arranged. The consultant reported what was painfully obvious to a lot of us and that we just didn't think the pastor would be willing to hear from us. But bring in someone from out of town with a briefcase . . .
Yup, just like when I had started middle school and ALL the girls except me were shaving their legs and wearing nylons. It took three of the neighborhood high school girls sitting my mom down and being my "consultants" to persuade her to change her mind, no matter how many times I had told her of my humiliation with white ankle socks and hairy legs.
I see a potential future career here for you, QG. Church consultant. Just in case you need to make some side income.
