Mr. Way-Too-Proud-of-Texas-Guy

!

My non-Texan readers no doubt have not had the chance to hear the Bud Light commercial, "Mr Way-Too-Proud-Of-Texas-Guy" which currently graces our airwaves. It's part of the "Real Men of Genius" series.

The first time I heard it, I laughed so hard I nearly drove off the road. Must be a Texas thing. And by the way: Go Longhorns! Beat Ohio State!

LOL! So awesome...

I'm a Texas transplant, so I still can't root for the Longhorns. I root for the other UT.... GO VOLS!

Halftime: So far, so good.

LOL - seriously, I never watch football. I just asked dh what the score was so I would know whether to gloat or cry for the moment.

When he said, "Even the state reptile" I thought, "Hey, I know what that is!" I mean, how can you not know it, growing up here? Hi.Lar.I.Us. I'm cracking up. Before I moved out of Texas, I didn't realize other people DIDN't know this stuff about their states. So funny.

I loved that spot! Hilarious!

Now, to the final score. I was too wimpy to talk smack before the game was over, but...

Goooooooooooo Bucks!

That's a hoot! You know I once read an article in a missions magazine that described a missionary as a "former Texan" and I thought, "There's no such animal. If you are a Texan, that doesn't change just because you go on vacation."

So, why would a Real Man of Texas be drinking a beer made in St. Louis?

Don't Lone Star and Shiner have something to say about this?

Budweiser has a huge brewing plant in Houston, actually, so I guess Real Men of Texas can drink it.

We prefer Shiner Bock ourselves.

In New Mexico we recognize that the reason the wind blows so much around here is because Texas sucks. It was just about a perfect weekend Ohio State won and the Dallas Cowboys lost. Almot all the Texans I have come across think they are bigger, better, and more important than anyone else. The Bud light advertisement wasn't harsh enough.

49 other states, but they're smaller? Ah, what a keen grasp of geography Texans have. Makes them look so smart, too.
