Beatrice Blogs: Escape Haikus

Neither gate nor door
Neither invisible fence
Keeps me from escape.

Squeezing through the bars
Keeps me thin and beautiful
Running free all day.

Call me Houdini
Magician-like dachshund
Famed for trickiness.

QG is worried
How to keep me safe from cars?
I scoff at danger.

Beatrice! You have a great sense of adventure but you are too short for cars to see you!

I personally have abandoned my dashes down the street when Gannet forgets me. It's so cold that I go and hide in the garage and hope that she remembers soon.

I don't think that you have the same incentive to come indoors, though. I wish I could join you!

Your friend,
Tipper

What a stinker! As hard-headed as...a dachshund! Better get her microchipped, if you haven't already.

Dear Beatrice,

(waving paws wildly) Danger, Beatrice, Danger! Although Redford thinks your antics sound like great adventure, as the older, wiser dog I need to remind you that our people keep us fenced for a reason! I had to be reminded of this earlier in the week. I heard something outside and when Kim opened the door slightly to investigate, I pushed through and ran out - and encountered a bull moose in the driveway! I'm not sure if there are moose in Texas, but there might be other dangers! Please be safe!

Dear Beatrice,

Are you sure you are not a cat?
You sound like a cat to me.

Your friend and fan,

Bea, you are one fine dog!
Why should you stay in a yard when the big world is out there?

I am Adventure Cat! You are Adventure Dog!

"Thanks friends for all the support! QG says to tell you that I have been microchipped, but she still worries.

I don't worry. I'm Beatrice the Bold!"

Beatrice, please listen to Newman! Although we don't have any bull moose, there have been wild javalina reported in the neighborhood where our new house is being built. A javalina will think you are a snack!
