I read the Slate article that you sent the link for, and I agree that it is pretty fair. However, I don't think Gates should get an apology from the officer unless the officer gets one from Obama for saying that he "acted stupidly". Obama's half-apology was only for how his words were interpreted, not for the words themselves.
