Osteens In Court

As your faithful, albeit self-appointed, correspondent on All Things Osteen, it is my duty to report that the civil lawsuit brought against Victoria Osteen (co-pastor of Lakewood Church) by the flight attendant she allegedly shoved goes to court in Houston today. Victoria has already paid a fine to the FAA in connection with the incident. Joel is expected to testify.

The flight attendant says the incident caused her to have "anxiety and hemorrhoids" and that it affected her faith. I'll bet. (Bad QG!) Osteen's attorney is the most renowned criminal defense attorney in the city, so I guess she thought she needed more than God on her side. (naughty QG--cut it out!)

I'll keep you posted.

Update note: I forgot to include the hemorroids allgegation when I first posted. Thanks to commenter Questing Parson for pointing that out!

Okay, you put the post up so you asked for this. I followed your link to the news report. I was particularly taken with the allegedly wronged flight attendant's complete complaint:

"According to court documents, Brown claims that she suffers from anxiety and hemorrhoids because of the incident and said her faith was affected. She is also suing Osteen for medical expenses for counseling."

I have been a pastor for forty-three years. This is the first time I've found faith and hemorrhoids mentioned in the same sentence.

Perhaps our prayers today should be for the judge.

Y'all are so funny! Thanks for keeping us posted on this, QG! Is this an instance when you wish you could be on the jury?

Exactly what is she suing for?? Lifetime supplies of Prozac and Preparation-H ??

hahahaha! This has me ROFLOL!

The flight attendant is asking for "an apology and punitive damages amounting to 10 percent of Victoria Osteen's net worth." Folks, that's a LOT of Preparation H!

The hearing was originally scheduled for Tuesday-- it was actually listed in the school/business "closings due to Edouard" listings on several news websites-- HISD student activites cancelled, ExxonMobil offices closed, Victoria Osteen court hearing postponed, Little Sweeties DayCare closed, . . . All the important news here in HTown . . .

I can see a link between hemorroids and faith... the former would make sitting in a pew harder!
and who wants to sit behind or next to someone squirming as in the Prep H ads on TV. It's a bummer of a case though for the Osteens.. just saying

In response to Questing Parson's comment: I have not been a pastor for any years but I am a CPE student, and the aforementioned combination made it into my summer experience a couple of weeks ago and became part of a prayer offered with love and humor. I suppose it says something about CPE that it did not occur to me that there might be anything unusual about the juxtaposition.
