Heard Over the Coffee Cups...

So this morning El Jefe and I are having breakfast with the TV on to an early morning news show.

Victoria Osteen* is being interviewed, flacking her new children's books.

QG: "She is really good at happy talk. She could have been a successful investment banker."

El Jefe: "But then she wouldn't have made as much money."

Did l'il Vicky actually go to seminary, or is she co-pastor qualified by insemination??? *smirks*

BTW, I watched different news this morning and, as a result, am campaigning to buy you the next open senate seat.

PG,

Oh, good! I always wanted to be a Senator but--you know--didn't want to be bothered with actually having to run for it or anything.

Forgot to add--Vicky didn't go to seminary. But then neither did Joel. That's what happens when you inherit a church from your late father, the pastor. Who actually did go to seminary.

Can you be "Mom of Congress" and also be a member of Congress?

sad but true -- I have a family leaving my church due, in large part, to their "buy in" to prosperity theology as inspired by Osteen
