We're still waiting for Ike to show up. The winds are gusty, but that's all.
Here's a little quiz. Match the drink with the hunkeree:
Drinks
A. Double Glenfidditch with a few rocks
B. White wine
C. Beer
D. Hard cider
E. Red Wine
Hunkerees:
A. QG
B. El Jefe
C. Babs
D. Babs BF
E. St. Betty
F. The Old Marine
Note that some drinks will be matched with more than one hunkeree.
Update: Some hunkerees will be matched with more than one drink!

We're at a presbytery meeting where Clift Kirkpatrick was our speaker today. He led us in prayer this morning for all in the path of Ike.
We're thinking of and praying for you.
hmmm...a challenge!
I don't know any of you very well so these are my preliminary guesses:
A-F and B
B-A
C-D
D-C
E-E
now that you mention it, a drink might be just the way to cap a great lazy day off....
Very good, Teri! Almost perfect!!
I'll post the answers later, power permitting.
Sending a virtual g & t your way....
Just going on names alone...
QG - B
El Jefe and The Old Marine - A
Babs - E
Babs BF - C
St. Betty - D
Is there a prize?
Very close, Presby Gal!
I'll have one of each with you all!And I swept my patio too so I can relate to El Jefe. I wanted to rake leaves in the beds but Fergus told me to go repair the grout in the guest bath!! (I was just rtying to reduce the junk landing in the pool). I did laundry so what ever happen we have clean undies. My mother drilled that into me.
Glenfiddich (no t) is one of the best Scottish malts on the market, but don't adulterate it with ice!
The only thing that pure Scots add to their whisky is more of the same!
Slainghe!
I'm worried about the choices some of you folks make in times of stress. What happened to "G&T" or even rum and coke? I like the idea of red wine - couple that with stinky cheese and who cares if the power goes out - no refrigeration required.
ooh, the people matched with more than one drink makes things more interesting. Let's see...(still with drinks on the left...)...
A-B, F
B-A, C
C-B, D, F
D-D
E-A, B, C
I'm capping off my day off with an ice cream sandwich and a glass of Bailey's, which I notice is not on your list... ;-)
Grace Cake has been eaten in your honor. Ken drank wine but I'm sticking with tea for now: I need my mind clear to stay up all night watching TV and obsessing.
love!
I would say...(drinks left, drinkers right)
A. F
B. C,E
C. B
D. D
E. A
...but come a hurricane season, any drink will do.
Hunkeree? :-) Glad you still have your sense of humor. Be safe.
I assume you are without power now. For obvious reasons I am not commenting much these days, but I do want you to know when you come back that I'm watching this storm very personally, with your family in thought and prayer.
You probably don't have power now, but am praying and hoping that all is well with you and your family. Please post as soon as you can.
Hope that morning has found you in good shape. Here in downtown Houston I never lost power or dish tv. I'm high and dry and hope to get to see the husband before Sunday. He has his hands full getting services to citizens. The wind was pretty scary between 2 and 5,but all is well. My prayers with all who were not so fortunate.
I hear taht power is down, but just in case you pick this up...drink the lot and know that we are all praying and thinking of you all. I've not made The Cake, as there's just me and the Dufflepud this weekend...but we're in solidarity anyway.
Much love xxx
Hee hee!
We made sangria last night.
I hope y'all fared as well as we did; we have power and water, and no damage to either house (we both lost a section of fence, big deal). We're very blessed.
